Why is it stupid? Is it because it will drop the cost of whatever uber loot you were trying to sell?

Thanks Anet. These are good events, keep em coming please. If nothing else these events help focus the playing community on a certain part of guildwars. There are soo many choices now, it is kinda sad how deserted parts of the game are now. Anyone been to Hells Precipice lately, pretty thin population there now. This event will draw quite a crowd to Warren and Deep. *** Deep thought, Why do so many refer to Warren as "Urgoz", yet do not refer to the deep as "Kanaxai"......
For all those crying about the noobs, please take some responsibilty for getting in a good group. Noone here is concerned that you cannot join a random PUG and not clear an elite mission. I would be more concerned if you could. Invite guildies and friends, use voice com (TS or Vent), for the couple of PUGs you have to pull in, spend alittle time on their skill bar and help coach them if need be. It takes more skill and is far more impressive to coach than rage quit or rant about the noob. If your guild does not join you for such fun, leave and join one that does. I realize it is tough to shed ties, but it is a game and being forced to join PUG groups all the time is a heart breaker.

I'm just going to load all my characters into the Deep and Urgoz's Warden then use the Guild Hall exploit so I never have to farm faction again. Then I'll eventually get bored with the non-existant PvE content and HA for a while until I quit again. :]
Also, I'm glad they're trying to distract us from their inability to fix or implement anything players are asking for us by basically giving the dog a bone. :]

Actually Loki is right. Anet please lessen the lag issues that soo many of your die hard fans are suffering. This would make me far happier than another zodiac weapon in the MoJoe armory. Use your resources to give a solid product. Rather than a bunch of fluff that is unstable. Frequent err7s have made many in game friends of mine leave the game. Was Anet bought by Microsoft was I was not looking?? Cheap shot, but think about it...

I wonder if the bots, er... I mean people who have been chucking in 15-25k faction a day for the last two months will finally give up and realize they're playing a broken system.

I know plenty of people in the DTH alliance and none of them are bots. Most of them enjoy faction farming and are going for titles.

Can I join the negativity and wonder about LAG? I fear that with that many people in those areas (myself included, haven't been there yet) the lag problem is going to be hell on any interupter.

i think this event is basically a gold sink for anet, i mean straw effigies are worth nothing, and everyone will be shelling out 1.5k for each chest key

WANT TO GET THE MOST (Loot) OUT OF THE WEEKEND?
Learn your Elite Mission Team Builds!!
Here's one from guildwiki which is extremely efficient and effective:
Urgoz Trappers
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Team_-_Urgoz_Trappers
And some must-know information on The Deep (also from guildwiki), for those who favor the Luxon environment:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/The_Deep
If you're going for Zodiac items, I also recommend bringing 5 Stoneroot Keys (Urgoz) or 5 Deep (something) Keys. (As that's about how many chests you're going to encounter on a typical complete run -- may change for the weekend event)
See you there!

It's nice that Anet is listening to player demand and opening up elite missions. The problem i have noticed in factions is that NOBODY FREAKING PLAYS ANYTHING BUT AB OR FF. Try sitting in Unwalking waters for about, oh, an HOUR while you wait for more than 4 real people to come in. How about this:
Give everyone a SIGNIFICANT amount of Faction for Repeating Missions at Mastery level (20 min ~ 1k faction or something), and then have the Elite missions charge you faction to enter (like 5k or something). That would end ferrying and help diversify the PvE side of factions. Ta da! Anet should hire me as a dev. <_<

Plus, any Alliance that tried to charge for ferries somehow spontaneously combusts. That always happens, I never know why.
The purpose of the event is just to raise awareness that Elite Missions even exist. I had received very many tells stating "what's an elite mission?"

If you were so famous then how come I don't remember you?

I expect the prices of all zodiac items, and elite greens to drop ALOT, sell them now if you were planning on it.

Well, "famous" is relative. Everyone who primarily visited HzH knew I was a ferry.

I don't care about access to elite missions (I already like ferrying) I just think the Location of the NPCs is funny and thats what directed my comments.
They might as well of put the NPCs in Shing Jea Monastry and let lvl2's in the outpost..Kaineng Center is just full of lvl12-15 Assassins and Ritualists that can't go any further because they don't know how to follow quest chains to get to V.Sqaure lol.
Woulda made totally more sense to put an NPC in House and Cavalon respectively to get there, Heck..Woulda been 50 times easier just to MOVE the already existing NPC outside of the locked up area.
